Googling Yourself/ZoomInfo

Find location of person who is Googling your name
The Buzz at Ziggs: A New Year. A New You.

Have you ever Googled yourself? As an internet junkie, I'll admit to this recently.

Just like whenever I move and get a new phone book, the first thing I usually check for is my own listing.

Interesting, how much data on you can be stored and retrieved on the Internet. I can imagine many reasons for Googling yourself or your company or Googling others. Some of the hits makes me wonder how long some of this information will actually still be available in the future.

A couple of searches I ran today; this search string results in 115 hits, this one, has 300 hits, 1,500 hits for this search string Although, I do know that I have posted and responded to many public forums, etc. which is not easily found in a Google search result.

Scouring the internet for articles, blogs, etc., etc., about you, someone else, or your company, can certainly have its advantages, but can also take a lot of time. Wouldn't it be nice to find one interface that could make this process much easier, faster, and return the results with much more proficiency.

I wonder how many internet pages there are on the WWW today or how many websites exist anyway? What is the actual size of the World Wide Web and is there someone or something that tracks all of this?

I just came across ZoomInfo today and sure enough, there I was listed, but I never recall doing this, but I obviously did and simply forgot. The internet has brought about so many profound changes. Goes to show you, be careful what you say. Social networking sites like LinkedIn are pretty cool sites, and I've been getting a few job offers lately that I've humbly turned down. It's a nice way to keep in tocuh with colleagues.
